MICHAEL MURRELL, Psy.D.,
founder of Murrell Counseling Service, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been a mental health professional since 1979. He has an excellent reputation in the community as a clinician and talented speaker. Dr. Murrell is a very active in lectures and workshops.His special interests are in biofeedback, marriage and pre-marriage counseling, EMDR, hypnosis and issues dealing with anxiety disorders. Personalized treatment programs may use one of several types of therapies including; Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Biofeedback, Hypnosis and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy.
Dr. Murrell takes a special interest in helping Christian families adapt to the inevitable changes that occur over time as the family members change and mature. Teenage years are often particularly difficult times for families, and their conflicts can be addressed and resolved in family therapy.
Michael Murrell is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association of Christian Counselors. He is on staff at Lakeland Regional Psychiatric Hospital. He is a provider for Tricare, Envision, Green Springs, United Healthcare, MCI, HMSA, Medicaid, Medicare, and Kraft and Magellan EAPs.
J. Jeff Maloney, Ph.D.,
has been with Murrell Counseling Services part time since September 1, 2002. Dr. Maloney provides individual and family therapy, testing and assessments. He brings professionalism and short-term counseling to this Service using cognitive and behavioral therapy.Dr. Maloney is a Counseling Psychologist at Southwest Missouri State University where he does testing and also teaches numerous counseling courses. He was a Psychologist and unit executive officer in the United States Naval Reserve since July 1988. Dr. Maloney has presented numerous workshops and training sessions as well as authoring several publications. Dr. Maloney is available for appointments on a late afternoon and evening basis. He is presently accepting new clients. He is a provider for Medicare, United Healthcare, and other PPO's in Missouri.
